*Mark your calendars! For the first time in Pennsylvania history the Governor will teach a statewide civics class. At 11:00 a.m. on October 8th Governor Rendell will address commonwealth high school students via a video stream using Classrooms for the Future equipment.
The Governor will be instructing a 30 minute class using a lesson plan written to adhere to Pennsylvania’s Standard Aligned Systems. A presidential election year is a thrilling time for our country, which presents a perfect opportunity to discuss our civic responsibility. Governor Rendell believes it is essential all Pennsylvania’s understand their roles as citizens and taxpayers. Our presenter will be focusing on several key issues that are pressing for our high school students. A proposed lesson plan is attached for your review. Our hope is that the classroom teachers will prepare their classes on these issues.
